Origins and characteristics: Sesame oil is made from the seeds of the sesame plant via cold-pressing. The seeds contain around 38% fatty oil. The sesame plants are cultivated mainly in India, China and in the Sudan. The filtered oil is light brown and clear, with a mild taste.- Usage
- Usage: This oil counts as a half dry oil. The cosmetic industry uses pressed sesame oil for eg. Body oils, and it is also used as a carrier for lipid soluble Phytonutrients, vitamins and UV filters. This oil is one of the highly refined edible oils.
