Description
Origins and characteristics: Safflower oil comes from the seeds of the safflower thistle. Areas of cultivation are USA, Mexico, Argentina and Australia. The seeds are pressed and / or extracted then refined to make safflower oil. This oil is almost colourless till light yellow and has a mild, seedy taste.- Usage
- Usage: This is a highly valuable cooking oil. Of all the vegetable oils, it has the highest proportion of essential linoleic acids which makes it an excellent diet cooking oil. It is also used for pharmaceutical and cosmetic purposes.
