Description
Origins and characteristics: Peanut oil comes from the seeds of the subtropical peanut plant via pressing and/or extraction with subsequent refining. It is a pale yellow oil with with a faint smell and taste of peanuts. The relatively high levels of arachidic, behen and licinogenic acids are characteristic. The main growth regions are in Senegal and Nigeria as well as in the USA and Argentina.- Usage
- Usage: refined peanut oil is one of the cooking oils which can be heated to high temperatures. It is used as a component for margarine. Refined peanut oil fulfills all relevant pharmacopoeias and is used in many pharmaceutical products as well as in cosmetics.
