Description

Origins and characteristics: Fatty avocado oil is obtained via a mechanical pressing of the fruit flesh of the ripe avocado pears. The pressed oil is green in colour. Via subsequent refining, the proportion of free fatty-acids is greatly reduced and a light yellow, clear virtually odorless oil is attained. The main growth areas are California, Mid- and South America, South Africa and Israel.
Usage
Usage: the saponifiable components are primarily composed of linear hydrocarbons, terpene alcohols, squalene and phytosterols. These are said to have cosmetic effects (eg. Highly spreadable). Avocado oil is an important carrier for many skin and body care products(oily solutions, emulsions and creams). Human skin absorbs it deeply and quickly.
